Missed Opportunities

Tears Public domain“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish – thoughtless, without forethought; and five were wise – sensible, intelligent and prudent. For when the foolish took their lamps, they did not take any extra oil with them; but the wise took flasks of oil along with them also with their lamps…Then all those virgins got up and put their own lamps in order. And the foolish said to the wise, give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out. But the wise replied, there will not be enough for us and for you; go instead to the dealers and buy for yourselves. But while they were gone away to buy, the bridegroom came and those who were prepared went in with Him to the marriage feast; and the door was shut. Matthew 25: 1 –

From My Heart:
Father last night in class I was playing the tapes from Pacific Garden Missions to my students and we were talking about opportunities to share You with others, when a thought came into my mind, I needed to go get a book my Sunday school teacher loaned me about heaven. There is a picture in there of Your hands wiping away a little boy’s tears.

I asked my students why would You wipe away tears from us when we were in heaven, where all is to be joy. Here is what they said Father. “Maybe it is because of regret from all our sins”, another student said “Because of joy that we were with the Lord.” I think they are both very good answers = thinking kids for sure. But what about wiping our tears because of all the missed opportunities we could have shared about our Saviour and our Lord, opportunities that we missed telling them about how much You love us and how You are always with us and that You sent Your Son to step in and take our punishment for all our disobediences, missed opportunities to show someone the way to You Father, so that they would know the peace and joy You give us.

I also told the students that many people live in Christian homes, they go along and haven’t made sure that You are their Lord, I challenged them to make sure of the most important thing in their lives = You and knowing for sure that You are their all in all = that You are their Saviour, King and Lord.

Father as I think about opportunities, I get excited because for some reason You have put in me the desire to share about You anytime I can. When I learn something about You it seems to be on the front burner of my mind – to share it with everyone. Sometimes I must be careful as some people don’t want to hear, or learn more about You. That is hard Father because I don’t understand how people don’t want to know everything there is about You. So give me the wisdom to know who You want me to share with and who You want to know about all the wonderful things You did for us and of course about Your very special love.

Guess what it’s time to go again – You know it will be so nice when I get home and I won’t have to rush off from Your presences. Until then I will carry You in the pocket of my heart and mind.

You kid – 0 Lynn!

Isn’t the Love of Jesus Something Wonderful, Wonderful it is to me!
